Mackmyra Grönt Te is a single malt whisky that has been finished in casks saturated by a mix of Japanese green tea leaves. In 2019 master blender Angela was inducted in the prestigeous Whisky Hall of Fame – this spring release is Mackmyras celebration in whisky form. Angela was given the opportunity to put her personal touch and create the innovative season release "Grönt te", inspired by her passions: experiencing new cultures and creating new combinations of taste and experiences in whisky. The Japanes teas used are Kaoribo-Hojicha, Yame-Gyokuro, Yame-Matcha and Yame-Sencha. Casks used: • Freshly saturated Ex-Oloroso, 128 L • New and 1st fill Oloroso, 128 L • 1st fill Bourbon, 100-200 L • 1st fill Swedish Oak, 100 L Notes according to Mackmyras webpage: Nose: Spicy, floral, berry and fruity with green tea notes, white pepper and rasted vanilla. Dried grapes, citrus, pears and forrest berries. Taste: Fruity and floral texture with vanilla, herbal green tea notes, a light spiciness and green apples. Finish: Spicy, fruity and herbal with green leaves and spicy vanilla. Released internationally March 5th.
