Mackmyra Reserve Craft Beer Edition is a cooperation between Mackmyra and four smaller Swedish breweries. They got access to casks from Mackmyra that they could use to finish their beer, then the casks were returned to Mackmyra to be used for Mackmyra Reserve. Jämtlands Bryggeri Jämtlands Strong Ale Whisky Cask Edition was matured on casks of American white oak that had held bourbon and was bottled at an ABV of 9.0%. The character of the beer according to Mackmyra: Nose of chocolate, dried figs, and lots of roasted malt. Some blackcurant and spicy earthiness from the hop “Bramling Cross” och “East Kent Golding”. Clear taste of roasted malt and distinctive bitter, cracked, chocolate and spices. Well balanced with a pleasant aftertaste and some sweetness.
