Mackmyra Björksav is a season release finished in casks saturated with Swedish birch sap wine from Grythyttan Vin Cask types used: • Ex-Bourbon, 200 L • Oloroso American oak, 128–200 L • Birch sap wine Swedish oak / American oak, 100–200 L • Whisky from ex-Bourbon casks is about 30% of the total recipe. • Whisky from Oloroso casks is about 24% of the total recipe. • Whisky finished on birch sap wine casks (1–4 years) is about 20% of the total recipe. • Whisky finished on other types of casks is about 18% of the recipe. • Whisky from Swedish oak casks is about 8% of the recipe. Notes according to Mackmyra: Nose: Flowery, fruity and mildly spicy, with vanilla fudge, sandal wood, cedarwood and roasted bready tones. Flowery and slightly waxy notes of birchwine. Soft fruity notes of cherries, raisins, apples, pears and lemon. Taste: Fresh spiciness and fruitiness with a slight mineral herbiness. in vanilla fudge, raisins, apple, ripe pears and citrus. Nice spiciness of vanilla, roasted oak casks, flower honey sandalwood and cedarwood, anise, white pepper ang ginger. Soft vanillalike oaky spiciness with a light oily texture. Finish: Light, spicy notes in harmony with roasted oak and dried fruits.
