Before St. Kilian had their distillery up and running, they bought double distilled newmake from Mackmyra, which they then distilled a third time as a test run for the distillery. This tripple distilled new make was matured in two 190 liter Old Forrester casks and three 50 liter Bourbon Quarter Casks from Garrison Brothers. Notes according to St. Kilian: Colour: light straw Nose: A sweet and fruity bouquet of creamy vanilla, cream caramel and fresh apricots, accompanied by spicy oak shavings with a dash of herbal juice. Taste: A wonderful sweetness of bourbon vanilla with caramel, accompanied by herbal juice and a little apricot jam, surrounded by healthy, warming spicy oak notes and garnished with a pinch of lime. Finish: Medium length and creamy and discreetly warming with herbal lemonade, dry oak notes and a hint of candied ginger.
