1999 - Bruket is the first bottling in the Jubilee series celebrating Mackmyras first 25 years. It's a gin matured in casks saturated with blood grape liqueur from Lignell & Piispanen. It was presented at the Mackmyra Days and has been dedicated to Evelyn (in the Bodås mine). 83% Blood grapefruit-saturated 2nd Fill Bourbon 200L 17% Blood grapefruit-saturated 1st Fill American Oak 128L Notes according to Mackmyra: Nose: The nose is dominated by sweet citrus with ripe blood grapefruit and blood orange. Floral notes of elderflower are also present. The gin emerges with time and notes of juniper and mild coriander appears. Taste: It's a lively taste with a distinct juniper character, sweet clementines, and mango. A soft bitterness and light bitter mouthfeel come from the many citrus notes, where blood grapefruit is the most prominent. Finish: The finish is unusually long. Bitterness and acidity builds the aftertaste with notes of juniper, lingonberries, and blood grapefruit. The grapefruit lingers in the mouth for a long time, transitioning from bitterness to sweetness over time. |
